HLV — Specifications, Lineage & Appearances

The HLV is a mass production transport vehicle from the Universal Century timeline of the Gundam franchise. It was manufactured by Principality of Zeon. Within the franchise it is considered canon.

The HLVs appeared for the first time during Zeon'sFirst Landing Operationon March 1, U.C. 0079, when they descended en masse onto Central Asia in large numbers to commence theEarth Invasioncampaign. Subsequently more HLVs were deployed in theSecondandThird Landing Operationsto deliver Zeon troops and equipment to Earth. These vessels were used by the Principality of Zeon to land forces on Earth, to launch extracted mineral resources into space, and finally to evacuate fleeing troops following Zeon's defeat…

Within the story, the HLV first appears in March 1, 0079 U.C.

The HLV has appeared in 17 Gundam releases across 1991–2024, debuting in Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory (1991). Later appearances include Mobile Suit Gundam Side Story 0079: Rise From the Ashes, Mobile Suit Gundam: Zeonic Front, Mobile Suit Gundam: Lost War Chronicles (Manga) and Gundam Legacy and 12 more.

It was fielded by Republic of Zeon, Invisible Knights, Kimbareid Forces, Principality of Zeon and Zeon Remnants.
