The RGM-79 GM (ジム, Jimu?) (aka GM, pronounced Jim) was the first mass-produced mobile suit of the Earth Federation. It was introduced in the anime Mobile Suit Gundam.

Within the story, the RGM-79 GM first appears in November, 0079 U.C.

The RGM-79 GM was developed from RX-78-2 Gundam, RGM-79[E] GM Early Type and RX-78-02 Gundam (The Origin). It in turn led to 27 derived units — G-Armor, Gefangener GM, GM Camouf, GM Underground Combat Type, GM-005 GM (Argent Keil Type) and RAG-79 Aqua GM and 21 more.
